10th June 2003 Windsurfing: Fairbourne Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: F4 Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 23 Sea Temperature: warm Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Managed to take a break from the tree hugging and get out on the water with 1 of the other lads on the course. He used my Ace and Z1 and I ventured out on the wave kit. The wind was very on shore so it was tricky getting out through the high tide shore dump. Once out I got a few jumps and the wind picked up a bit but it was a case of sailing on apparent wind trying to eke out the board speed between the gusts. Barney faired less well on the slalom kit and I ended up sailing the kit back up wind for him. Being the first time I had sailed there and we were the only ones out it was a case of try the conditions which were not brilliant but it was nice weather to be on the water in. |
